How many of you get involved in your friends business ? would you call the cops if you saw your friend getting into a small physical altercations? when I say small physical altercation I mean realy agressive yelling and throwing stuff or do you intervine? what if it gets a lil more out of hand (men what do you do) and he grabs her by her collar ? or just gets a lil physical for that matter, whats up what do you do?

Years ago I got involved with a female friend (actually my girlfriend’s best friend) who was getting the crap beat out of her. One situation nearly killed her. That is when I stepped in. Called the police, he went to jail, (she bailed him out...strike one), he was set to go to court (she dropped the charges...strike two) and to this day the LAST I heard he still beats the crap out of her (strike three)...oh...and she isnt "allowed" to speak with my girlfriend anymore...
Note to the women in this group -The FIRST time he hits you...THAT is when you LEAVE and NEVER look back. It is YOUR fault if you STAY in an abusive relationship...not his. Does anyone STILL feel sorry for Rihanna after seeing the most recent pics of her and Chris Brown holding hands and smiling....perfect example of why I MIND MY OWN BUSINESS. Usually the dumb ass chicks go right back to the guy who beat the crap out of her...

Going on the premise they’re "my friend" I’d have to get involved and I’d expect my friend to do the same for me. Waiting for the cops to arrive does no one any good. The police are only interested in getting more POC in the system. Couples fight and the reality is - in many cases they’re right back together again. The police don’t solve anything. My peeps know I got their back - against family, friends, and foes.

Male or female, when a friend is in an argument that’s getting heated I pull them away and say let’s bounce. I’m also not the type to sit there and watch someone I consider a friend get slapped around and beat down. I have a very small circle of "friends" and we look out for each other.

This is very difficult to answer b/c it all depends on the friend and their history w/ their S.O. I personally don’t like to get involved in situations like this b/c the friend’s S.O. may come after you. I know in talking to some of my female friends whether it’s worth it to get involved or not. I listen to their logic or lack there of and go from there. Most of the time, the woman will not tell you she’s been thumping on him, too.

I know better - and I would not physically come between the couple.
If it looks like the victim wants to get away but the aggressor has a hold of him/her- I’d call the cops from far away. I have to think about my safety too- with the aggressor being in such an angry state of mind and all - whats to say he/she has a weapon and I get myself hurt for coming between it all? - You have to be smart about it.

I realize that some women know how to push buttons and make a man mad, you shouldn’t hit a women. If it was my friend I would probably try to calm down both parties. My last resort would be to call the cops.

Psychologically, women who are abused by their husbands/ boyfriends get stuck in a cycle. This cycle consists of three phases: tension building, explosion, and the honeymoon phase. The honeymoon phase is characterized by appologies and promises that the violence will not happen again. Once a woman is in this ctcle it is difficult for her to break from it. This is why a woman who is the victim of domestic abuse may call the cops after an episode, have her male partner locked up, and bail him out the next day only to have the cycle repeat itself.
Here is a disturbing statistic: 70% of female murder victims are killed by their male partners.
So what do you do? Calling the cops will probably not work in the long run.
You have to remove her from the situation and make her aware of what’s going on. If you have to use force against her husband/ boyfriend, fine. He is a piece of shit not worthy of your friendship. He does not have the right to hit her. Make her aware of what’s going on (the cycle). Many communities have free counselors and support groups. Empowering the victims of domestic abuse is more effective than calling the police.

That’s not a reason to call the police unless it’s just me and I can’t beat his ass on my own if it really got serious. If it’s not serious (not a lot of blood) then I’m not calling.

if its my friend then im doing something if it gets violent. yelling is yelling... but once it gets physical the three of us or just he/she and i will be in a fight and thats that. people who are abused in relationships do not deserve to be abused just b/c they go back. no one has a right to abuse any one just b/c that person is weak-minded.
